Pieta House Campaign & Christmas Shopping Deadlines

Pieta Update & Christmas Shopping Deadlines

With all the gloom surrounding the year that was 2020 we decided that rather than running Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales this year we would instead donate 10% of our takings to Pieta House.

Based on previous years sales our expectations were that the campaign would raise 150 to 200 euro so we were delighted when we worked it all out and found that we would be sending 520 euro to Pieta

Pieta provide a free counselling service to please with mental health issues through its 18 centres around Ireland and I think we all suffered with mental health issues in 2020 so we felt it was a perfect charity to support this year.

And so on to deadlines for online Christmas orders. There is lots of panic and the moment regarding whether or not online orders will reach customers of not. Certainly couriers are busier than ever but these things have a habit of sorting themselves out.

The good news is that we use GLS not An Post and they plan to deliver right up the Christmas Eve in a bid to get all parcels to customers in time for Christmas.

There are no guarantees but we are confident that if you work within the below dates we can get your orders to you in time for Christmas

Monday Dec 21st for Ireland.

Thurs Dec 17th for UK deliveries

Monday Dec 14th rest of EU

The deadline is now past for any orders travelling outside the EU.

If for any reason we feel we can’t get an order you place to you in time for Christmas we will reach out to you by phone within 24 hours of you placing order and offer you the option of an immediate refund.

Also feel free to call us at 066 71 36 486 if you want to check on the stock status of any item in the run up to Christmas before you place your order.

    1. Hi Siobhan,
We are well aware An Post work until 1pm on Christmas eve before taking 5 days off and returning to work on Dec 30th. We are also aware that yesterday (Dec 9th) An Post announced they were bring forward the deadline of guaranteed deliveries for the online stores they serve in Ireland to Monday Dec 14th. At best this will cause widespread panic buying over the next few days and at worst it will put many people off buying anything online closer to Christmas even though most of us online stores don’t use An Post to send our parcels.
